- Be from Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco, Nigeria or Tunisia;
- Currently live in Germany;
- Have an innovative business idea for one of the five countries covered by the project.

In the framework of the Migration & Development programme, mandated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ with the objective of involving African diaspora in the development of territories, GIZ has set up the "Business Ideas for Development" component.
It aims to support diaspora project leaders who use the know-how they have acquired in Germany in their country of origin through technical and financial support to prepare the creation of their business. Among the services offered by Business Ideas for Development :
The programme is only open to applicants who are resident in Germany and come from Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco, Nigeria or Tunisia.
Once a year, GIZ launches a call for projects on Diaspora 2030. The best projects are invited to present their ideas to a jury during the Pitch Day. The candidates with the best ideas are selected by the jury and receive technical and financial support from the Business Ideas for Development programme.
