The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) brings together 1007 universities, grandes écoles, university networks and scientific research centres using the French language in 119 countries.
As such, it implements, in its field of competence, the resolutions adopted by the Conference of Heads of State and Government of countries sharing the French language. The North Africa Regional Office represents the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie in the region. Based in Rabat since 2012, the North Africa Regional Office leads a network of 118 members in three countries: Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
Created 60 years ago, it is one of the largest associations of higher education and research institutions in the world. It is also the operator for higher education and research of the Francophonie Summit. It perpetuates the action of AUF, which has been present since the 90s.
It includes 4 establishments in three countries: three French-speaking Digital Campuses (CNF) in Algiers (Algeria), Rabat (Morocco) and in Tunis (Tunisia) and the Francophonie Institute for Knowledge Engineering and Distance Training (IFIC) in Tunis.
