The Diaspora Investment Attraction Facility offers entrepreneurs and investors from the Ivorian diaspora, wishing to develop a business project in Côte d'Ivoire, technical assistance and support in finding financing.

Characteristics

Placed under the authority and supervision of the President of the Republic, the Investment Promotion Centre in Côte d'Ivoire (CEPICI), a one-stop shop for investment in Côte d'Ivoire, is a public establishment of administrative nature.As such, it coordinates and rationalises all governmental initiatives and actions in the field of investment promotion and private sector development.

The Diaspora Investment Attraction Facility implemented by CEPICI offers the following services to entrepreneurs and investors of the Ivorian Diaspora  

  • Facilitation and simplification of administrative formalities for the creation, operation, transmission or extension of businesses through the One-Stop-Shop;
  • Access to the advantages of the Investment Code, investment assistance and facilitation;
  • Development of business partnerships and professional networking: Organisation of professional meetings and sharing of skills, experiences and innovative know-how;
  • Advice, advocacy and linking of diaspora project holders with institutions in charge of the protection of individual property (OAPI), the settlement of commercial disputes (commercial courts) and the Centres de Gestion Agréés for accounting, tax and managerial approaches.  

Secondary services offered to entrepreneurs and investors from the Diaspora through CEPICI's Diaspora Investment Attraction Facility:  

  • Accommodation & domiciliation of promoters' projects and/or enterprises;
  • Strategic mentoring of promoters through the mobilisation of experts in business management, finance, law and entrepreneurship for the supervision and mentoring of project holders;
  • Prototyping of inventions;
  • Technical assistance in the production, promotion and marketing of goods and services Industrial and commercial production engineering;
  • Analysis of business opportunities (potential, target market and competitive territorial context, main risks and key success factors, legal and regulatory environment) and support for strategic development;
  • Search for financing to support promoters;
  • Support for the adoption of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and the quality approach, as well as the promotion of environmental ethics and good governance;
  • Advice on the quality approach;
  • Capacity building for business staff: information and management systems, business development and marketing, internal organisation and human resources, etc. Monitoring and evaluation of business projects.  

Other services offered: Contribution to the creation of wealth and stable jobs in Côte d'Ivoire; Training of a class of national champions of active entrepreneurs; Strengthening of the economic empowerment process, especially for youth and women in Africa; Promotion of entrepreneurial culture in schools, training centres and universities; Development of the start-up ecosystem and of a network of active economic operators

  • An information and exchange meeting with project leader management and support structures, SME umbrella organisations and representatives of professional organisations, is organised.
  • Project submission period is launched.
  • Technical evaluation and pre-selection of projects are carried out by a dedicated technical operator.
  • Training for finalist project leaders is offered.
  • A hearing of the finalists in front of the jury for the choice of the winners is organised.
  • The winning projects are announced, as well as the prize awards.  
  • Certification of the competition process by a legal consultancy firm.
