Characteristics

The Cameroon Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (APME) offers technical support for entrepreneurship by bringing together all the administrations concerned (taxes, registry, treasury, APME) in a single geographical location and through one-stop shops, the Business Creation Formalities Centre (CFCE).

This offer allows for the creation and operationalisation of CFCEs throughout the country, physical registration in situ in operational CFCEs, hosting, guidance and advisory support for users, as well as online registration through the digital platform www.mybusiness.cm.

The Business Creation Formalities Centres (CFCE) create more than 10,000 businesses per year and have contributed to Cameroon's progress in the Doing Business Index between 2008 and 2017, rising from 39.59 points to 47.23 points:

  • 11 operational CFCEs (01 in each Regional Capital + 01 at the Reference Pilot Incubator of Edéa;
  • Online registration operational only in 03 pilot CFCEs (Douala, Yaoundé and Garoua);
  • Creation times from 40 days to 72h and creation fees from FCFA 250.000. to about FCFA 54.624 (Warning: current average time = 30 days following some dysfunctions);
  • CFCEs have contributed to Cameroon's progress in the Doing Business Index between 2008 and 2017, going from 39.59 points to 47.23 points (despite losing rank from 163 to 166 between 2017 and 2019).
